Survivors include his 3 sons: William J. (Sandra) Covington of Hopkinton, Iowa, Buck J. Covington of Prairieburg, Iowa and Bryan J. (Amy) Covington of Monticello, Iowa, his brother, Richard (Lila) Covington of Monticello, Iowa, a sister, Diane LeClere of Monticello, Iowa, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Bradley Covington, and one brother, James Covington.

William was born on October 25, 1939, in Prairieburg, Iowa, the son of Richard and Laura (Holub) Covington. Bill owned and operated a Gas Station and Bill’s Feed and Supply Store in Prairieburg for many years, and later he became a machinist at the Ertl Company in Dyersville until retirement.

William F. Covington, 69, of Monticello, Iowa died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Friends may call from 3 – 8 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, Iowa.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Prairieburg, Iowa with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Wayne Droessler.
