Mary Irene Rubner, 84, of New Vienna, Iowa died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 - 8 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where the St. Boniface Altar & Rosary Society / American Legion Auxiliary will recite a rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2009 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, Iowa with burial in St. Paul Cemetery, Worthington, Iowa. Officiating will be Rev. John O’Connor.

Mary was born on March 15, 1925, in Bankston, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Joynt) Heisler. She married Vincent F. Rubner on November 26, 1946, in Dyersville, Iowa. Together they raised their family in Worthington, where Mary retired as a secretary from St. Paul School. Vince and Mary moved to New Vienna in 1990 where Mary volunteered at the St. Boniface School Library and enjoyed the company of children. Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting, knitting and trout fishing with Vince.

Mary was a member of the St. Boniface Rosary Society, American Legion Post 137 Auxiliary and the New Vienna Area Historical Society.

Survivors include her husband, Vince, 4 sons; David (Betty) of Andover, MN, Kenneth (Bev) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Thomas (Deb) and Daniel (Kim) both of Worthington, IA, 9 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Mrs. Clarence (LaVern) Rubner of Oelwein, IA and Robert (Marilyn) Rubner of Arlington, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a half brother, Raymond Heisler, brothers-in-law: Clarence Rubner and Donald (Virginia) Rubner.
